Bottom line is Osprey puts about 500% more engineering into their packs then c-back and others for about 20%less money. I had to send it back because it was a little tight to carry my nessisary items here in Sedona. We ride full armor plus a fair size tool kit and first aid supplies. I wish wish wish I could cram it all in and use this baby but it didn't leave me room for a snack or any other non-essnetials. The perfect pack for 1hr after work rides but not your Sunday pack as it will leave you wanting. Features and quality are top notch and best I have seen. Check your sizes when making a decision. I stepped up to the Raptor 14 which is actually a big jump in size but gave me some room for clothing and other gear for our Epic days. This pack and the Raptor series have the best load stabilization that I saw amongst their line. I didn't check the ladies "verve" but they say it is based on the Viper so I assume same set up. It has great features like the bladder support and easy removal of cap for refilling. The strap at the back can be used to hold your helmet sercurly. Nice bright storage space to fit tools and accessories also makes it easier to find things in low light conditions. The magnet that holds the bite valve for drinking is genius and holds it securaly in place and keeps it from flapping all over the place. Don't know why other competitors doen't use the same system. This pack is a well thought out system compared to Camelpak which is very simple. Build quailty is not bad, not up to par with Camelpak but it can take a beating. I have had a few loose threads on mine but nothing coming off yet. So far this pack is proving itself great. Not yet to the beating that i gave my Camelbak, but time will tell how that goes. |
